CERAMICS 1
Semester 2 Goals!
Last semester in ceramics helped me grow a lot as an artist and as a learner. At the beginning, I was still figuring out the basics like wedging clay, shaping faces, and understanding how different tools affect the final piece. Over time, I became more comfortable experimenting and fixing mistakes instead of getting frustrated by them. I also learned the importance of patience in the process, especially during drying, and glazing. Looking back, I’m proud that I kept improving and trying new ideas, even when some projects didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted.

This semester, my goal is to continue building my skills while pushing myself to be more creative with my designs. I want to focus on making smoother shapes, improving my glazing skills, and planning my projects more carefully before starting them. And I want to challenge myself to dry a piece in a bag successfully without it cracking. I also want to challenge myself to try more detailed or complex pieces that show what I’ve learned so far. By staying focused, practicing consistently, and asking for feedback, I hope to create work that I’m even more proud of by the end of the semester.
