I was unsure with how this project would turn out, but it ended up being one of my favorite things I have made. I thought it was really cool that the pen drew straight on to the clay. I chose the flower design because it reminds me of the flowers my mom grows in our garden. If I was going to make another one I would start out with more clay. I had enough because the was extra on the top but I couldn't figure out a way to make a slab big enough.

COIL BUILDING
-
wedge clay
-
cut into a pieces
-
make the pieces into worms
-
cut the worms into short pieces

I do not have a firing process for this piece because I came into class and it was out drying and it had completely crumbled. I was really disappointed because this piece was really fun to make and I think it would have turned out really well. I don't know what I would have used it for though. Next time I would put cornstarch on the inside and make put a slab on the inside so the coils had something to stick to.

done!
I found this design on Pinterest and I thought it was really fun. I also liked it because I thought I could find a good purpose. I am using it right now as a earing holder! I think projects like these are my favorites because it is something I can display in my room and be proud of while also serving a purpose. If I were to make this again one thing I might do differently is make the indents smaller so it looked more like a shell. However I am happy with it the way it is because it can hold more earnings this way.

when we get back from break I want to paint it blue and add little lavender flowers clear glaze and fire agian
I made this piece when the sub was here and she was super helpful. One thing I wish I would've done a little differently is making a bigger square at the bottom so it did not get as smashed in. Another thing I would have done is smooth it out more. When it came out of the kilm it was a little bumpy. I also made this really recently so I did not have time to glaze it yet. I think I will give it to my mom as a flower vase.
